Thomas 'Tom' Suszek

            Thomas "Tom" Suszek, age 88, of Alpena passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at home surrounded by his family.

            On March 4, 1932, Tom was born to the late Theodore and Mildred (Drager) Suszek Sr. in Alpena, Michigan. Tom left school to join the United States Air Force; upon his return he met Patricia "Pat" Arpin and later they were married. He worked for the Huron Portland Cement Plant and later National Gypsum from 1954-1986, retiring after 32 years. For the next 20 years, he enjoyed spending the winters in Ft. Myers, FL with Pat, where he would go to the Flea Markets and several Garage Sales. Tom also enjoyed spending time at his "Triple-T Hunting Camp," where he enjoyed hunting, beekeeping, and gardening. He loved listening to polka music, and he especially liked listening to "Sunday in Poland" on WATZ. Tom was a member of All Saints Catholic Church. 

            He is survived by his loving wife, Pat and their four children: Thomas A. Suszek of Livonia, MI; Durenda Pake of Alpena, MI; Anthony "Tony" Suszek of Alpena, MI; JoAnn Moshoginis of Kalamazoo, MI; nine grandchildren: Stephanie Suszek, Sarah Suszek, Emily Suszek, Stacy (Eric) Zbytowski, Keri (Brandon) Amlotte, Andrew (Antonia) Suszek, Jeremy Moshoginis, Aaron Moshoginis, Jessica Moshoginis; four great- grandchildren: Jacob Zbytowski, Kelana Zbytowski, Zachary Zbytowski, and Jalen Suszek, one sister: Doris Wudcoski of Alpena, MI along with several nieces and nephews.  

            Thomas was preceded in death by two brothers: Theodore Suszek Jr. and Gene Suszek; two sisters: Phyllis (Melvin) Yachcik and Elaine (Frank) Wallace.

            Arrangements are being handled through the Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home. A Private Visitation and Funeral Service will be held.

            Interment: Holy Cross Cemetery
