'Theo' Theodora Mary Gapczynski

Theodora "Theo" Mary Gapczynski, age 93, of Alpena passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Friday, April 14, 2017.
She was born on March 8, 1924, to the late John T. and Emma E. (Charron) Parsons in Grayling, Michigan. On April 8, 1944, Theo married Alvin Gapczynski in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She worked for The Drug Store for 20 years, and enjoyed spending her time making floral arrangements and feeding the birds. Theo was a great artist and a loving caring mother and wife to her family.
She is survived by her loving husband of 73 years, Alvin, and their three children, James (Dorine) Gapczynski of Ann Arbor, MI; Nancy (Mark) Skevington of Thousands Oaks, CA; John "Jack" Gapczynski of Alpena, MI. Her four grandchildren: Christopher and Andrew Geary, Jaclynn Gapczynski, and Anthony (Elise) Gapczynski; two brothers Leo(Peggy) Parsons of Rogers City, MI; Lenard Parsons of Livonia, MI and several nieces and nephews.
Theo was preceded in death by her daughter: Jane Allen; sister: Norma Jean, two brothers: Ferris, and Rodger.
Family and friends will gather for visitation on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. with a Parish Prayer Service beginning at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at St. Anne Catholic Church of All Saints Parish from 10 am. until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial begins with Rev. Fr. Joe Muszkiewicz officiating.
Internment: Holy Cross Cemetery
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Michigan.
