'Susie' Vivian L. Smith

            Vivian L. "Susie" Smith, age 70, of Alpena passed away on Wednesday, August 1, 2018, at Mid-Michigan Medical Center of Alpena surrounded by her family and friends.

            On April 9, 1948, Vivian was born to the late Harlo and Violet (Moulds) Smith in Alpena, Michigan. Susie was a member of the Alpena Eagles (F.O.E.). She loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren who she cherished dearly. She also enjoyed playing Yahtzee and bingo with her friends, Susie was truly loved by all.

            She is survived by her one son: David (Michelle) Smith of Alpena; two grandchildren: Ashley and Zakary Smith; sister Linda Smith of Alpena; sister in-law Barbara Smith; nieces: Laura Smith, Annette Smith, and Terri Waun; a nephew Duane (Melissa) Smith; a great-niece: Mikayla Waun; a great-nephew: Malachi Smith; two special friends: Karen Westergard and Karen Sylvester, and Aunt Janet Knox.

            Susie was preceded in death by the two brothers: Larry (Karen) and Douglas Smith.

            Per Susie's wishes she has been taken from the Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home for cremation. A private gathering of family and friends celebrating Susie's life will be held at a later date.
