Robert Harry Nowicki

May 22, 1934 — July 30, 2019

            Robert Harry Nowicki, age 85, of Alpena, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 30, 2019, at Mid-Michigan Medical Center of Alpena.

            On May 22, 1934, Robert was born to the late Phillip and Louise (Kierzek) Nowicki in Rogers City, Michigan. He worked in the family business for several years before he began working on the freighters based out of Rogers City, Michigan. Robert served in the U.S. Army and later attended college at Ferris State University. He married Susan Piechan on October 10, 1970. After receiving his Bachelor's Degree from Ferris State University, he began his career working as an accountant for Young and Nethercutt and then First Federal Bank in Alpena, Michigan for 20 years. Robert was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church of All Saints Parish. He enjoyed drives in the country, seeing the fall colors, and above all spending time with his family.

            Robert is survived by his loving wife 48 years, Susan and their two children Kathleen (Court Fleming) Nowicki of Rogers City, MI; and David (Sara) Nowicki of Posen, MI; three grandchildren: Rebecca Fleming, Robert Nowicki, and Shawn Nowicki; one brother William "Jim" (Margie) Nowicki of Gaylord, MI; one nephew Phillip (Michelle) Nowicki III of Presque Isle, MI; one great nephew Phillip Nowicki IV; and one niece Joyce Ann

            He was preceded in death by one brother Phillip Nowicki II;

            Per his wishes he has been taken from the Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home for cremation. A Private Family Service will be held at a later date.
