Rich was born in Perrysburg, Ohio on September 13, 1947 to the late Louis and Elizabeth (Dibling) Lange. After high school, Rich started his 23-year long career with the United States Air Force. He pursued his bachelor’s degree in computer science and years later a master’s degree in social work which led to his final career with the Veteran’s Administration to assist fellow veterans attain the help they needed. After his retirement from the VA, Rich found his “real” career, farming (which included gardening and raising animals). He enjoyed many things throughout his life such as, celebrating his grandkids, feeding the fish with his wife by his side as they talked about life, and serving GOD through many missions of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Hillman. Rich was a very strong and independent person who asked for little from others but gave abundantly. His favorite time of year was Christmas. He celebrated the gift of giving by supporting families in the community (most often anonymously) and collecting donations for the Salvation Army. On April 4, 1969, Rich married the love of his life, Peggy Bond and they spent 55 beautiful years together serving GOD and raising their family.
He is survived by his loving wife Peggy & his children: Angela (Ruben) Lange, Jennifer (JD) May, Tina (Charles) Traughber, Richard (Kristen) Lange, nine grandchildren, Matthew and Grace Bell, Viento Farias, Jackson May, Kaleigh (Cody) Brower, Kaitlynn (Kegan) Townsend, McKenzie Perjesi, Emma (Drayton) Collis, Jacquelyn (Grady) Proffitt, three great grandchildren, Bennet Brower, Lauryn and Tyson Proffitt. His siblings: Teresa (Larry) Mackenzie, Tom Lange, Fred (Jana) Lange, Patricia (Tom) Haley, Joe (Nancy) Lange, and many nieces and nephews.
