Patrick R. Belland

            Patrick R. Belland, age 80, of Alpena, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 25, 2019, at Mid-Michigan Medical Center of Alpena.

            On October 13, 1938, Patrick was born to the late Victor and Lois (Dolson) Belland in Alpena, Michigan. Patrick graduated from Catholic Central High School in 1957, and later joined the National Guard in 1960 as a Preparation Cook until his discharge in 1968. Afterward he worked for Abitibi and then worked for Panel Processing. Pat started his own business "Pat's Home Repair;" he built and remodeled homes.

            He is survived by one brother "Jack" John V. Belland; one sister Donna J. Petitpren both of North Branch, MI; four nephews: Victor (Kimberly) Belland of Loganville, GA; Keith (Fiancé Tami) Belland of Imlay City, MI; Ray A. Petitpren of FL and Craig (Anne) Petitpren of Grand Blanc, MI; one niece: Laura (John) Bissell of Gaylord, MI; and 7 great nieces and nephews: Josh and John Belland, Tyler Alcover Petitpren, Benjamin and Evelyn Petitpren; Willie and Rylie Kibler. Along with his many coffee friends at the Northern Lights Arena and Builders First Source.

            Patrick was preceded in death by his sister Anna Witulski Boucher.

            Arrangements are being handled through the Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home. Per his wishes Patrick has been taken from the Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home for cremation. A Committal Service will be on Friday, May 3, 2019, beginning at 1:00 PM at Holy Cross Cemetery with Fr. James Fitzpatrick officiating, followed by Full Military Honors accorded by the V.F.W. Post 2496.
