Patricia 'Patty' L. Code

Patricia L. Code, age 77, of Alpena passed away peacefully at home after an extended illness on Wednesday, November 9, 2016.
Patty moved to Presque Isle Harbor in 1979, serving as the Grand Lake librarian for several years. She later moved to Alpena making an impact to many lives as a Substance Abuse Counselor at Catholic Human Services and the B.A.B.E.S. Program at the local schools. She retired from Catholic Human Services after in 2004 after 15 years. Patty was a breast cancer survivor as well as a living kidney donor. She was passionate about people, animals, books, and music. Patty was a loving member of the A.A. family. She was loved throughout the community for her fun loving and playful ways.
She is survived by her three children: Kelly Davis of Troy, Molly (Jeff) Donajkowski of Fowlerville, and Patrick Code of Grand Rapids. Her seven grandchildren: Casey, Corey, Alex, and Emily Code, Joshua Davis, Katie and Paige Donajkowski.
Patty is preceded in death by her husband James Patrick Code, her son James Casey Code, and her sister Susan Sheffield of Berkley, CA.
She has been taken from the Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home for Cremation. Family and Friends may gather for Visitation on Saturday, November 12, 2016, at Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home from 12 noon until the 2pm Memorial Service begins with Rev James Slasinski officiating.
