Orest Talus Helash

  Orest T. Helash, 89, of Alpena passed away March 8, 2022 surrounded by his loving family.  He was born in Canada on July 13, 1932.  He married Janet Heiller (Dehn) who survives him.  Also surviving are his two children;  Amber (Paul) Nolan of Alpena and Missy (Ken) Buchanan of California, and eleven grandchildren; Kegon A. Dehn, Ashley L. Dehn, Autumn L. Dehn, Shania E. Dehn-Copeland, Jaden Marchlewski, Pauly Nolan, Justin Nolan, Joseph Nolan, Luke Nolan, all of Alpena, Tasha Neely of California and Jade Neely of Idaho.  Thirteen great- grandchildren.

    Per his wishes, Orest has been taken from the Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home for cremation.  Memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with final expenses. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.karpushuntercares.com
