Nicholas Peter Gapczynski

Nicholas Peter Gapczynski, age 86, passed away peacefully at Ascension St. Joseph Hospital in Tawas City, Michigan on January 7, 2019.

            Nick was born on October 5, 1932, in Long Rapids, Michigan.  He married Barbara Lambert in 1957, in Detroit, Michigan and they were together for 58 years until she passed away in 2015. Nick worked for over 29 years at Huron Portland Cement later known as National Gypsum in the finish grind department and on repair. He also worked in maintenance at Thunder Bay Apartments until his retirement in 1994.

            Nick is survived by two sons; Norm (Monica) of West Bloomfield, MI; and Doug of Warren, MI; daughter Marsha (Richard Lemons) Gapczynski of Alpena, his grandchildren Derek, Peter, and Lauren; and one sister Margaret Cubilo.

            Per his wishes Nick has been taken from the Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home for cremation and a Memorial Service will be announced by Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home at a later date.
