Mary Losinski - Donajkowski, age 82, of Alpena passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, October 28, 2017, surrounded by her family.
Mary was born on December 27, 1934, in Alpena to the late John and Gertrude (Ryan) Dege. On January 17, 1959, Mary married Alvin Losinski at St. Bernard Catholic Church. After 25 years of marriage, Alvin preceded her in death on October 8, 1984. Mary was a beautician and owner of Losinski Excavating & Septic Tank, Inc. retiring in 1994. On September 15, 2001, she married Leonard Donajkowski, they were married for 15 years before he preceded her in death on February 13, 2017. Mary was a member of All Saints Catholic Church and their Rosary Group 6. Mary's greatest accomplishment in life was raising seven children and being blessed with six additional step-children. They in turn were blessed with her 24 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She will be fondly remembered as "Busia/Boo" by those who survive her.
She is survived by her 6 children: Larry "Hev" (Nancy) Losinski, Terry (Judy) Losinski, Barry (Celina) Losinski, Perry (Kelly) Losinski, Carolann (Don) Chojancki all of Alpena, MI; Cherylann (Edwin) Grillot of Pensacola, FL. Her 6 step-children: Julie (Ralph) Butterfield of Bay City, MI; Leonard G. (Sondra) Donajkowski of Rhodes, MI; Mark Donajkowski of Ann Arbor, MI; John (Kay) Donajkowski of Munith, MI; Chris (Theresa) Donajkowski of Pinkney, MI; Paul Donajkowski of Stockbridge, MI; grandchildren: Ryan and Taylor Widajewski, David, Marissa, Alex, Tyler, Shaun (Zac), Dani and Alli Losinski, Emliy (Clayton) Clemens, Sierra, Savannah, and Tyson Grillot, Megan Ohlrich, Jessica Chojnacki, Chelsea (Victor Acosta Jr.) Butterfield, John James, Matt (Mallory), Maureen, Connor, Ryan, and Gracelyn Donajkowski, Chelsea and Danielle Allen, Cheyenne and Shawn Butts, Madison Morrison, and Kylelynn Ellsworh. Mary is also survived by her brother Thomas (Pat) Dege of Alpena, MI; and in-laws: Betty Dege, Theresa Orban, Ron (Barb), Larry (Pat) Losinski, Louis (Clara), Ray (Michelle), Georgiana, and Maxine Donajkowski, Rita Wetzel, Mary Brandenburg as well as several nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her daughter Roxann Losinski, twin sister Ann Kowaleski, and brother John (Al) Dege.
Family and friends will gather for Visitation at Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home on Thursday, November 2, 2017, from 2 pm until 8 pm, Rosary Society will recite the Rosary at 3 pm, with a Parish Prayer Service at 7 pm. Visitation will continue on Friday, November 3, 2017, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church of All Saints Parish from 10 am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am with Rev Charles Donajkowski officiating.
Internment: Holy Cross Cemetery
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Pied Piper Opportunity Center or Hospice of Michigan in memory of Mary.
