Marlene Joan Hildebrandt, a radiant soul whose warmth and kindness touched everyone she encountered, departed this world on February 6, 2025, in Alpena, Michigan. Born with a loving spirit, Marlene dedicated her life to nurturing her family and friends, always putting others first in every situation. Her unwavering love as a wife, mother, and grandmother will leave an indelible mark in the hearts of those fortunate enough to know her. She was born on January 14, 1939, to the late Robert and Elizabeth (Snyder) VanSipe in Spratt
On May 21, 1960, Marlene married the love of her life, William Hildebrandt at Trinity Episcopal Church. They were married for nearly 43 years until Bill preceded her in death in 2003. She began her professional life as a secretary at the Besser Company, showcasing her skill and dedication before embracing her cherished role as a homemaker after marriage. This transition marked the beginning of her lifelong commitment to family, where her support and laughter became the heartbeat of her household.
Throughout her life, Marlene found joy in gathering loved ones around her. She was not just a host; she was the soul of every party, creating warm and memorable experiences that resonated with everyone who attended. Her role as a Cub Scout den mother reflected her nurturing spirit, as she dedicated countless hours to her children and their friends, providing guidance and care.
Her love for reading and genealogy offered her a deep connection to the past, revealing stories that enriched not only her knowledge but also her family's heritage. Game nights, filled with laughter and friendly competition, were a staple in her home, where the love for card games and spirited discussions thrived.
Marlene was predeceased by her devoted husband, William Hildebrandt, and her beloved son, Allen Hildebrandt. She also mourned the loss of two brothers, Wayne and Louis VanSipe. Those who have left this earthly realm are now surely watching over her as she reunites with them in eternal peace.
However, Marlene's legacy continues through her cherished family. She is survived by her loving sons, Mark (Jennifer) Hildebrandt, Timothy (Karen) Hildebrandt, and Thomas Hildebrandt, who carry forward her spirit of kindness and love. Her two granddaughters, Andrea (Sean) DeWitt and Melanie Harrington, along with many great grandchildren, will forever treasure the memories of their time with her. Additionally, her siblings, Beth Hill, Dusty VanSipe, Bobette Manning, and Edward VanSipe, along with several nieces and nephews, remain to honor her memory and continue her legacy of love.
