Louis 'Duke' J. Odusky

Louis J. "Duke" Odusky, age 83 , of Alpena, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at home.
On June 10, 1934, Louis was born in Detroit, Michigan to the late Bernard and Rose (Skatzka) Odusky. He served in the U.S. Navy. Louis married Eleanor Jakubiak on July 29, 1961, at St. Mary Catholic Church. He worked for the Besser Company and later for National Gypsum retiring in 1986. Duke was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the V.F.W. One of his happiest places to be was at the Golf Course and he enjoyed traveling to many courses. As an avid gardener he took pride in his flower garden, he also enjoyed being a fan of Michigan Sports, and loved his puzzles.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55years, Eleanor, and their four children: Marci (Joe) Garcia of Grand Blanc, MI; Terri (Tom) Ross of Alpena, MI; Steve Odusky of Petoskey, MI; and Lorri (Ed) Rondeau of Alpena, MI. His five grandchildren: Katie, and Andrew Garcia, Zachary Ross, Chelsey (Ben) Wedge, Corey Rondeau, one sister Barbara Holzman, and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will gather for visitation at Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home on Thursday, June 15, 2017, from 3 pm until 8 pm. Visitation will continue on Friday, June 16, 2017, at Karpus- Hunter Funeral Home from 11 am until the 12 pm Funeral Service begins with Rev. Fr. James Fitzpatrick officiating. Followed by Full Military Honors accorded by the V.F.W. Post 2496.
Internment: Holy Cross Cemetery
In memory of Duke memorials may be made to Hospice Compassus or the Huron Humane Society.
