Lester N. Robinette, age 91, of Alpena, passed away peacefully at Medilodge-Alpena on Wednesday, April 29, 2020.
On April 22, 1929, Lester was born to the late Ernest and Katherine (Allain) Robinette in Alpena, Michigan. He married the love of his life Bernadine Pokorski on September 9, 1950, at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Posen, Michigan with Fr. Szyer officiating. Lester was a lifelong farmer, and also worked for Dan's Distributing later Thunderbay Manufacturing and then retired from Stone Port after 36 years. He was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus Third Degree and was very active in baseball coaching for the Maple Ridge Township League.
He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Bernadine and their 7 children: Rosalyn (Jere) Bey of Hubbard Lake, MI; David (Debra) Robinette of Manton, MI; Linda (Richard) Seguin, Ann (Mark) Boyk, Cynthia (Thomas) Garber, and Pauline (Rodney) Stepanski all of Alpena, MI; Amy (Patrick) Wingate of Canton, MI; 19 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren with three additional great-grandchildren on the way; and one sister Doris (Chester) Donajkowski and one sister-in-law Eleanore (Dan) Bouchard both of Alpena, MI; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers Theodore "Ted" (Martha) Robinette and Wilfred Robinette.
A Memorial Mass in celebration of Lester's life will be held at All Saints Catholic Church at a later date and announced by the Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home in the future. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home.
Inurnment: Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Maple Ridge Township
In memory of Lester memorials may be made to the Alpena Senior Center or NEMROC.
