Keith Randall Sorenson Sr.

Keith Randall “Butch” Sorenson Jr., 71, of Alpena, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, July 17, 2023 at MyMichigan Medical Center Alpena. He was a kind, caring, and fun, father, grandfather, brother, and friend and will be dearly missed.
Butch was born on Feb. 6, 1952 in Alpena to the late Keith Sr. and Shirley (Irwin) Sorenson. He was a graduate of Alpena High School. Butch was a career Truck Driver for over 27 years with the teamsters.
There were many things that Butch enjoyed such as hunting, playing cards, watching the Detroit Tigers, and loved cooking. But nothing brought him greater joy than spending time with his family. Especially, with his grandkids and teaching them his “ways”.  
Butch is survived by his sons, Steve (Kathy) Sorenson, Kevin (Natasha) Sorenson, their mother, Paula Sorenson, three grandchildren, Dawson, Brent, and Davina, four siblings, Sandy (Gary) Metzke, Pat (Damon) Kendziorski, Kathy Pinkerton, and Oscar (Kim) Sorenson, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and infant sister Judy.
Butch has been taken for cremation from Karpus Hunter & Ross Funeral Home. A graveside service will take place at 3:00 P.M. on Friday, July 21, 2023 at Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery with Pastor Jim Myers officiating.
