Kathyrn S. Hansen

Kathryn S. Hansen, age 68, of Alpena passed away peacefully after a brief illness, on Monday, January 15, 2018, surrounded by her family at home.
On August 21, 1949, Kathryn was born in Long Rapids, Michigan to the late Henry and Margaret (Tebo) DeCaire. She served in the Merchant Marine and became a certified Steward. . On December 21, 1991, she married Anton Hansen at Trinity Episcopal Church. Kathryn worked for the Alpena Regional Medical Center as a Phlebotomist and was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church.
She is survived by her loving husband of 26 years, Tony; and her three sons Sean (Lisa) Hawley of CA; Joseph Schilling of Alpena, MI; and Travis (Andrea) Schilling of Minneapolis; one grandson Miles Schilling; a brother James (Beverly) of Long Rapids, MI; a sister Mary (Edward) Avery of Alpena, MI; several nieces and nephews, and her beloved companion Tootsie.
Kathryn was preceded in death by one grandson Parker Shilling; two brothers William and George DeCaire; two sisters Thelma Pena and Althea Mandock.
Per her wishes she has been taken from the Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home for cremation. There are no services scheduled at this time.
