Julie Mae Bushey

Julie Mae Bushey, 79, of Spruce, passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at MyMichigan Medical Center Alpena. She was a kind, loving, and caring, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whom will be dearly missed. Julie was born on Oct. 21, 1944 to the late Julius and Georgina (Perreault) Souva in Alpena. On Sept 12, 1964 she married the love of her life, Roy “Joe” Bushey at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Ossineke. They were married and raised a family for 53 years until Joe preceded her in death in 2017. Later in life she worked for several years at Walmart but for many years was a home maker caring for her family. There were many things that Julie enjoyed such as playing cards, Yahtzee, watching her birds, going to the casino, and eating Pizza and drinking beer. All of these were done with and around her family. They were always together enjoying each other’s company and spending time. That is what truly brought the greatest joy in Julie’s life. 
Julie is survived by four children, Kenneth L. Bushey of Spruce, Diane (Tony) Travis of Glennie, Keith J. Bushey of Spruce, and DeLynn K Ruppert of Spruce, eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren, a brother, Norm (Lorna) Souva of Spruce, three sisters, Carol Waun of Alpena, Marie (Mark) Thompson of Rogers City, and Irene (Pete) Debelak of Escanaba, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Julie has been taken for cremation from Karpus Hunter & Ross Funeral Home.
A memorial visitation will take place at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Ossineke on June 1, 2024 from 10:00 A.M. until the Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 A.M. with inurnment taking place immediately after.
