Judith A. Glennie, age 73, of Alpena passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, December 25, 2019.
On June 2, 1946, Judith was born to the late Killian and Evelyn (Anderson) Sobeck in Alpena, Michigan. She married George Glennie on July 6, 1963, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Alpena, Michigan. Judy was a Registered Nurse for 23 years, at Alpena Regional Medical Center retiring in 2005. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church of All Saints Parish and a Community Bible Study Group. She loved animals and was an avid dog mom. Judy will be remembered by her infectious laughter, fantastic memory and attention to fine detail.
Judy is survived by her loving husband George of 56 years; three children: Brian (Angela) Glennie of Alpena, MI; Kimberly (Larry) Dault of Semmes, AL; and Blaise (Barbara) Glennie of Davison, MI; 14 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; one brother Thomas (Diana) Sobeck; and two sister-in-laws: Norma Sobeck and Joyce Sobeck all of Alpena, MI; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son Patrick Glennie; one great-grandson James Martin IV and four brothers: James, Clifford, Richard and Eugene Sobeck.
Family and friends will gather for visitation on Sunday, December 29, 2019, at Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home from 2 pm until 8pm; with Nurse's Honor Guard Ceremony being at 7 pm. Visitation will continue on Monday, December 30, 2019, at St. Anne Catholic Church of All Saints Parish from 11 am until the Mass of Christian Burial begins at 12 pm with Fr. Joe Muszkiewicz officiating.
Interment: Holy Cross Cemetery
Memorials may be made to the Huron Humane Society or Hospice of Michigan in memory of Judy.
