Joanne Marie Pilarski

Joanne Marie Pilarski, age 75, of Alpena, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, February 9, 2017, at Tendercare Alpena.
Joanne was born on July 21, 1941, in Alpena, Michigan to the late Solomon and Helen (Bourdage) Scott. On June 17, 1967, she married Patrick P. Pilarski Sr. at St. Anne Catholic Church with Msgr. William Simon officiating. Patrick preceded her in death on March 15, 2003. Joanne worked for the Alpena General Hospital as a House Keeper, and for the Alpena News. Her main job was raising her three children and caring for her husband. She was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church of All Saints Parish, and the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by her three children: Ann Marie (Brian) Maede of Grand Rapids, MI; Albert (Jennie) Pilarski of Manhattan, KS; and Patrick P. Pilarski Jr. of Alpena, MI. Her 7 grandchildren: Lillian and Michael Maede, Laureen and Brittney Moldenhauer, Jordan and George Pilarski, Tristen Pilarski, three step-grandchildren Rebecca McKee, Sarah and Riley Kensa, 8 great-grandchildren, two sisters Marcelyn Barnes, and Carol Baker, along with several nieces and nephews.
Joanne was preceded in death by great-grandson: Patrick Albert Pilarski, her two brothers Robert and Thomas Scott.
Family and friends will gather for visitation at Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home on Saturday, April 22, 2017, from 11 am until the 1 pm Memorial Service begins at Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home with Rev. James Fitzpatrick officiating.
