Jean Marie Filarski

Jean Marie Filarski, 62, passed away on Ash Wednesday, February 22, 2023 in Coralville, Iowa after an extended illness. She was born on December 23, 1960, to the late Albin and Lorraine (Januchowski) Filarski. She was born and raised in Alpena, Michigan and attended Alpena High School. She moved to Florida in 1984, residing in Fort Lauderdale and Coral Springs area for more than 35 years before moving to Coralville, Iowa in 2020 for health reasons.

Jean loved nature, fishing, feeding the iguanas, birds and ducks, and listening to country music. She was a loving mother and grandmother, her family and friends were very important to her but, her greatest joy was spending time with her three granddaughters, singing karaoke with them, playing dress-up and making every moment with them special.

She is survived by her sons, Randy (Cynthia) Pearson of Iowa and Ryan Filarski of Arizona, her brother Michael (Cheryl) Filarski of Oregon and sister Janet (Phillip) Tomlinson of Arizona and stepbrother David (Tracey) Wallace of South Carolina, granddaughters Angel and Destiny Pearson and Samantha Filarski, five nephews, one niece and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She was proceeded in death by her mother Lorraine (Januchowski) Filarski, December 31, 1969 and by her father Albin Filarski, October 30, 2021.

Family and friends will gather for a graveside ceremony at Holy Cross Cemetery, Alpena, MI. on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at 10:00 AM. Karpus Hunter & Ross Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be registered at www.karpushuntercares.com
