James 'Jim' K. Morris

James "Jim" K. Morris, age 76, of Owosso, Michigan, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his children, grandchildren and nephew in Owosso, Michigan on Sunday, August 20, 2017.
On July 2, 1941, James was born to the late Angus and Margaret (McCormick) Morris in Alpena, Michigan. He married Nancy Sang in November of 1967, in Chicshogo, Minn. She preceded him in death on February 5, 2010.
Jim will be remembered for his unwavering commitment to family, his heritage, his love of farming as a "Jack of all trades, master of none." Jim served his country in the United States Army with the 101st Airborne as a Paratrooper. Jim left many monumental landmarks throughout the country as a skilled Ironworker with the Local 25.
He is survived by his 6 children: Jackie Wilder of Williamsburg, VA; James Morris Jr. of Lansing, MI; Robert Morris (Doodle), Sean Morris, and Valane Morris (Dennis Nolan) all of Owosso, Taya Morris-Richardson (Leo) of Brownsburg, IN; 13 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. One brother Charlie Morris of Florida; three sisters Dorothy Morris of Coldwater, MI; Mickie (Ray) Smuzeski of Vasser; Mary (Bill) Timmerick of Conn. several nieces and nephews.
James was preceded in death by two brothers: Angus Morris Jr. and Roderick "Roddie" Morris.
He had an unforgettable influence particularly on nieces and nephews, as well as friends, family and others who entered his life.
Family and friends will gather for visitation on Thursday, August 24, 2017, from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a Parish Prayer Service beginning at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Friday, August 25, 2017, at St. Bernard Catholic Church of All Saints Parish from 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial begins with Rev. Fr. James Fitzpatrick officiating.
Internment: Holy Cross Cemetery
