Georgiana V. Donajkowski

August 20, 1930 — March 16, 2024

Alpena

Georgiana V. Donajkowski, 93, of Alpena, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Davison Family Home. She was a kind hearted and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be dearly missed. Georgiana was born on August 20, 1930 to the late Stanley and Tillie (Gapczynski) Pilarski in Posen, MI.
On April 21, 1951 she married the love of her life Clemens Donajkowski at St. Mary Catholic Church. They raised a family together and remained in love for nearly 60 years until he preceded her in death in 2011. Georgiana was not only a homemaker by trade, she was a master at it. She loved to take care of others and make sure her family was provided for and well cared for. She enjoyed many things throughout her life such as crocheting afghans and scrubbies, gardening, canning, planting flower gardens, fishing, playing bingo, and playing cards (especially when she won). But nothing brought her greater joy than spending time with her family. She was involved in many church groups such as Ladies Sodality, Funeral servers, volunteering at All Saints Catholic School, and the Rosary Society.
She is survived by her four children, Larry Donajkowski of Alpena, Myron (Ann) Donajkowski of Grand Rapids, Joan (Richard) Kienbaum of Essexville, MI., and Diane (Michael) Hammond of Tawas City, MI., twelve grandchildren, Larry J Donajkowski, Melissa Detloff, Nicholas Donajkowski, Michael Kienbaum, David Kienbaum, Michael Hammond, Amanda Brown, Erica Hammond, Devon Hammond, Meagen Smitter, Nathan Donajkowski, and Emily Watson, twenty-one great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Clemens, two children, Thomas and Susan, and all of her siblings.
Family will receive friends for visitation at Karpus Hunter & Ross Funeral Home on Thursday, March 21, 2024 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. with prayer of the rosary at 5:00 P.M. Visitation will continue on Friday at St. Anne Catholic Church of All Saints Parish from 10:00 A.M. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M. with Fr. Charles Donajkowski as celebrant. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please consider a memorial contribution to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Hospice of Michigan, or All Saints of Alpena. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Davison Family Home and Hospice of Michigan for their compassionate care the last few months.
