Gary 'Skip' B Skiba

Gary B."Skip" Skiba, age 74, of Presque Isle passed away after an extended illness at St. Mary Hospital in Saginaw on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 surrounded by his family.
Gary was born on October 28,1942 in Alpena, Michigan to the late Lloyd and Frances (Polaski) Skiba. On October 9, 1981 he married Kathleen Rondeau. She preceded him in death on March 10, 2015 after 33 years of marriage. Gary honorably served in the U.S. Marines Corp. and the Michigan National Guard. He worked at Stoneport for 30 years as a Weigh House Operator. He was a member of the V.F.W, Polish Legion, and St. Mary Catholic Church of All Saints Parish. Gary enjoyed spending his time with his family, rabbit and deer hunting, gardening and watching sports.
Gary is survived by his five children: Steve (Tia) Studebaker of Temecula, CA; Todd Skiba of Henderson, NV; Lloyd (Carmen) Skiba of Grand Rapids, MI; Melissa (Brian) Frisch of Alpena, MI; Laura Skiba of Alpena, MI. His 10 grandchildren: Kevin and Kylee Studebaker; Lauren, Kaitlyn, Carson, Brian, Sarah, and Stella Frisch; and Ellison and Gehrig Skiba ; great- grandchildren Jeremy and Madison. His two sisters Darlene Robarge of Alpena, MI; and Joyce Murphy of Alpena, MI.
He was preceded in death by his two sisters June Wilson, Phyllis Skiba, and his brother Robert Skiba.
Family and Friends will gather for visitation on Wednesday, December 28, 2016, from 2 pm until 8 pm with a Parish Prayer Service at 7 pm at the Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home followed by Full Military Honors accorded by the V.F.W. Post 2496. Visitation will continue on Thursday, December 29, 2016, from 10 am until the11 am Mass of Christian Burial begins at St. Mary Catholic Church of All Saints Parish with Fr. Polycarp Mblarawa officiating.
