Fred M. Jackson Sr., age 78, of Ossineke, Michigan passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on September 26, 2019, at the Mid-Michigan Medical Center of Alpena.
On October 14, 1940, Fred was born in Fairburn, Georgia to the late Oscar and Marylee (Frix) Jackson. He was a mason in Detroit, Michigan for the R.D. Thayer Company for 30 years, retiring in 2006. Fred enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his children.
He is survived by his three children: Darlene (Mark) Crane of Ossineke, MI; Samantha (Ed) Sylvester of Battle Creek, MI; and Fred (Linsey) Jackson Jr. of Franklin, Tenn.; 13 grandchildren: Lora, Jessica, Amber, Tiffany, Brittany, Rebecca, Violet, Robbie, Brooklynn, Tabatha, Caterina, James, and Reece; nine great-grandchildren: Nicole, Morgan, Aiden, Evan, Olivia, Ava, Liam, Abagail, Cole; one brother Sherman (Trisha) Jackson of Detroit, MI; five sisters: Hilda Wootten of Hillman, MI; Marscella Burgose; Delorse Kiracofe, and Brenda Cancel all of Detroit, MI; Linda (Robert) Roundtree of OH; along with several nieces and nephews.
Fred was preceded in death by on one sister Helen and one brother Ronald.
Family and friends will gather for visitation at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hubbard Lake, Michigan on Saturday, September 28, 2019, from 9 am until the Funeral Service begins at 11 am with Pastor Joe Llewellyn officiating. Arrangements are being handled through the Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home.
Interment: Sanborn Township Cemetery
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Michigan.
