Eugene Chrzan

            Eugene "Gene" Chrzan Sr., age 84, of Alpena passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at home surrounded by his family.

            On January 20, 1934, Eugene was born to the late Walter and Josephine (Kuznicki) Chrzan in Krakow Township. He married Winnifred Parris in Onaway, Michigan on June 12, 1954. In 2004 they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Eugene worked for Huron Portland Cement/ National Gypsum and later for Forest Brothers. He enjoyed walks, wood working, and spending time with his family and grandchildren.

            Eugene is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Winnifred "Windy", and their four children: Susan Hamilton (fiance Ken McDonald) of Ossineke,MI; Eugenia (Ken) Carter of Republic, MI; Walter (Debbie) Chrzan of NC; and Cindy (Gary) Page of Alpena, MI; 10 grandchildren: Stacey (Craig) Smith, Rayne (Jasen) Strange, Steve (Amy) Nickowski, Tom (Marie) Carter, Josh (Karen) Page, Jesse (Tina) Page, Precious Chrzan, Patience Chrzan, Brooks Chrzan, and Diane Williams; 12 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; one sister: Irene (Lloyd) Donajkowski of Posen, MI; along with several nieces and nephews.

            He was preceded in death by his son Eugene Chrzan Jr.; four sisters: Cecilia Chrzan; Virginia Konarzewski; Lillian Smith; Clara Szatkowski and seven brothers: Anthony, Aloysius, Ted, Leopold, Florian, Bernard, and Adolph Chrzan.

            Family and friends will gather for Visitation at Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home on Sunday, April 15, 2018, from 2 pm - 8 pm with a Parish Prayer Service beginning at 7 pm. Visitation will continue at St. Anne Catholic Church of All Saints Parish on Monday, April 16, 2018, from 10 am until the Mass of Christian Burial begins at 11 am with Fr. Joe Muszkiewicz officiating.

            Internment: Holy Cross Cemetery

            Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Hospice of Michigan in memory of Gene.
