Elly Kate Ruedisueli, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, left this world on January 11, 2025, at the age of 90 in Alpena, Michigan. She was born on December 14, 1934, in Danzig, Germany, to the late Frank and Katie (Schmidt) Kletke. Elly carried her German heritage with great pride throughout her life, embodying the values of kindness, love, and unwavering devotion to her family.
Elly dedicated her life to raising her children and nurturing her grandchildren. Her devotion as a housewife was unmatched, as she poured her heart into the care of her family. She was a source of strength and support for her children, Mary Ann (Paul) Miller and Michelle (Mike) Sobek, always encouraging them to pursue their dreams while instilling in them the importance of family bonds. Elly’s legacy continues through her three cherished grandchildren, James Michael Gruenberg, Matthew (Sara Jane) Carter, and Amber, as well as five great-grandchildren—Honnesh, Hoysala, Halmidi, Hamsini, and Draco—who brought her immense joy.
Her love extended beyond her immediate family, as she also cherished her two nephews, Warner Troy and Dirk Fenner, holding each one close to her heart.
Elly had an abundance of hobbies that colored her life with happiness. She found joy in bowling and brought music into her home through her love for singing. However, her greatest joy came from the simple acts of spending time with her family, creating lasting memories that will forever be treasured by those who loved her.
Her faith played a significant role in her life, as she was a devout Catholic, exemplifying the virtues of her beliefs through her actions. Elly was proudly known for her kind heart, always ready to lend a helping hand or offer comforting words to those in need.
She is now reunited with her beloved son, Michael James Ruedisueli, and her dear sister, Ruth Fenner, both of whom preceded her in death. Their memories will forever be held close within the hearts of everyone who knew and loved her.
Elly Kate Ruedisueli will be deeply missed by her family and friends, whose lives were enriched by her presence. As we reflect on her remarkable life, we celebrate the love she shared and the indelible impact she made on all. Her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those she leaves behind, reminding us of the values she embodied and the love she so generously gave.
