Dwayne Benjamin Casebier

Dwayne Benjamin Casebier, 60, passed away peacefully, on Friday, April 14, 2023 at his home in Hillman, Michigan.

Born on March 5, 1963, in Akron, Ohio, Dwayne was the eldest child of Dewey Benjamin and Lynn Abigail (Dressier) Casebier who preceded him in death. Also preceded in death by in laws Mary Ann & Lloyd Seymour and Mark & Ann Soik. He is survived by his wife Anna (Seymour), six children, Charlie, Barbara Rose Horkey of Summerville, SC, Steven Casebier, Jennifer Kane, Jordin Seymour-Casebier and Justin Seymour-Casebier, all of Alpena, Michigan, eight grandchildren, Alyssa, Ava, Austin Horkey, Tyler and Lucas Casebier, Breanna Casebier, Hailey Kane, and Anthony Brisbois, and his sister Erin (Ted) DiCresce, niece Kylie DiCresce, and nephews Jacob and Luke DiCresce all of Charleston, SC, step mother Mary Casebier, step brothers Stephen (Tracy) and Kevin (Dona) Holmstrom, and their children, all of Ohio, Aunt Debra (Bill) Roper, and many cousins.

Dwayne went to Highland High School, class of 1982 in Medina, Ohio, and attended Alpena Community College in Alpena, Michigan. Dwayne Grew up in Stow, Ohio and later moved to Sharon Center, Ohio, when he was 7 and remained in the Medina area until he moved briefly to Florida at age 21. Dwayne finally made his home Alpena, Michigan in 1986 and lived there the remainder of his life.

Dwayne was a smart, kind, and nostalgic man who had many interests in life including, all things car related especially fast muscle cars, collecting matchbox cars, and building models. He was very creative and built amazing bikes, loved whacky packs, and was an avid cook. The original “head banger”, Dwayne loved rock music, especially heavy metal. A life long learner, Dwayne spoke passionately about his many interests, including sci-fi, history, politics. He loved spending time with his family watching football, UFC fights, the show Ancient Aliens, and the Weather Channel. When he had an interest, he voraciously taught himself about it and loved to discuss it. But his favorite subject was that of his children and grandchildren, for whom he was most passionate about. Dwayne had the “gift of gab” and never met a stranger. He had the most infections laugh, and wickedly funny sense of humor, he loved a good party and was always fun to be around. Most importantly though, he was a loving and loyal son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather who gave of his love, generously and freely, always ending his conversations with and “I Love You”. He was loved and will be missed dearly by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Rock on Dwayne!

A celebration of Dwayne’s life will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at Beaver Lake Community Church at 11:30 A.M. Karpus Hunter & Ross Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be registered at www.karpushuntercares.com
