Dorothy Doris Klaft

January 29, 1934 — December 4, 2020

Dorothy Doris Klaft, age 86, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 4, 2020, at McLaren Bay Area Hospital.

She was born on January 29, 1934, in Posen, Michigan to the late Adolph and Emily (Paul) Glomski.

Dorothy was a giving person and everyone that met her always said how sweet and nice she was. She loved to cook and bake and was very skilled at it. Dorothy could make something out of nothing and no one walked away from her table hungry. She would make homemade bread by hand, five loaves at a time, and it was always hot and ready right out of the oven when her children got home from school to enjoy. She knew how to sew, crochet and make beautiful fancy doilies. She loved her flowers and had many and was blessed with a green thumb that brought life back to any plant that needed a little help. Dorothy had a special place in her heart for her granddaughter Alissa. Alissa chose to spend her summer vacation every year with her Grandma, which filled Dorothy’s heart with love, and the two of them made many memories together. She also loved her little Shih Tzu dog named Patches who was always by her side.

She is survived by two daughters: Sharon (Chris) VanWoert and Debra Karr, three grandchildren and many siblings.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her youngest baby daughter Rose Marie Klaft in 1977.

Arrangements were handled through the Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home. Dorothy never wanted to be the center of attention; therefore, a Private Family Service will be held at a later date.

Internment: St. Casimir Cemetery in Posen, Michigan
