Doris "Annie" Stepanski
Doris A. Stepanski, age 87, of Alpena passed away peacefully on October 30, 2020, at Precious Days Care Home.
Doris was born on March 3, 1933, to Leo and Johanna (Dost) Douville in Alpena Michigan. She married Delmar Norman Stepanski on May 14, 1955, and they enjoyed over forty years together until Delmar passed away on March 24, 1996. They were blessed with four children: Francis, Norman, Michael and Peggy. Doris worked as a bus driver for Alpena Public Schools for many years. She is a member of St. Anne Catholic Church.
Throughout her life she enjoyed camping, fishing and boating with her husband and children; traveling, hosting themed parties, polka and dancing, baking, carnival rides, going to hockey games, senior bus trips to the casinos and morning coffee at McDonald's. For the last 10 years, Doris battled Alzheimer's Dementia that slowly robbed her of these precious memories. The one thing it could not steal was her kind and caring demeanor; she always greeted you with a huge smile and loving hug, despite not knowing who you were.
Our family would like to acknowledge the exceptional caregivers at Precious Days who took such wonderful and loving care of our Mother. We would also like to thank the entire staff of Hospice Compassus who made her final days peaceful and comforting.
Surviving Doris are three sons: Francis Stepanski of Stafford, Virginia; Norman (Lisa) Stepanski of Alpena,MI; Michael Stepanski of Posen, MI; and a daughter: Peggy (John) Manning of London, England. She is also survived by grandchildren: Holly and Melody Manning, Bryan and Aimee Boudrie; three great-grandchildren: Cherish, K.C. and J.J.
Preceding her in death were her husband Delmar and one grandson: Sgt. Edward Boudrie.
Arrangements are being handled through the Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home and a Graveside Committal service will be held on Friday, November 6, 2020, at Holy Cross Cemetery starting at 1:00 p.m. with Fr. James Fitzpatrick officiating.
Interment: Holy Cross Cemetery
