Clarence 'Jake' Allen, Jr.

Clarence "Jake" Allen Jr., 82, passed away peacefully at home February 12, 2022,  surrounded by his family.

Jake was born January 24, 1940 to the late Clarence J. "Drop" and Bessie (Anderson) Allen.  He married Laurie Powell on November 12, 1966 in Alpena.  Jake worked at Alpena Printing Studio, the Werth Texaco Gas Station and Fletcher Paper Company in the lab and later as a groundskeeper.

He enjoyed cars, fishing and music, especially watching dueling piano shows on his tablet. He had some favorite activities with his two local grandchildren; kicking the tires with Becca and going for a spin to the cemetery with Max to see the deer and visit the relatives. His quick wit and quirky sense of humor will be missed greatly by all who knew him.

Jake leaves his loving wife of 55 years, Laurie and six children: Debbie (Allen) Davis of Springhill, TN, Soni Rupright of Columbiaville, TN, Holly Aikens of Lachine, MI, Amy (Jeff Gaudrault) Allen of Battle Creek, MI, Scott Allen of Alpena, MI and Staci (Jack) Plunkett of Chesterfield, MI.  He also is survived by one brother, Rex J. Allen of Ossineke, MI, as well as  nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by an infant son, Glen, and two brothers, Tommy Allen and Bill Allen.

Visitation for Jake will be held on Thursday, February 17, 2022 starting at 2:00 P.M. until the Funeral Service at 5:00 P.M.
