Bruce David Bailey

Bruce David Bailey Sr., 86, of Alpena, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, January 12, 2023. He was a kind, caring, and loving husband, father, brother, and friend that will be dearly missed. Bruce was born on March 21, 1936 to the late Arthur and Lillian (Hatcher) Bailey in Alpena. After high school and some time spent in college, Bruce found himself involved in skilled trades and he was a pattern designer for many different companies in the automotive industry. His job requirements led him to live in various places throughout the United States. On June 9, 1956 Bruce married the love of his life, Barbara Sutherland in Detroit, Michigan.

He was a long-time member of the Jaycee’s, loved to go target shooting with his guns, and was an avid reader. He was a devoted and loving husband and father who cherished every minute of time spent with his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Barbara, a daughter, Susan Malone and her husband Dave, and a brother Gary Bailey. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two children, Bruce Bailey Jr., and Lisa Bailey.
