'Bill' Floyd William Monasmith

June 6, 1936 — July 6, 2017

Floyd William Monasmith, age 81, of Alpena passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 6, 2017, at home.
Bill was born on June 6, 1936 in Findlay, Ohio to the late Floyd and Oletha (Folk) Monasmith. He married Barbara "Bobbie" Scott on June 7, 1958 in Findlay, Ohio. She preceded him in death on September 18, 2001. He was a member of the First Congregational Church and the Elder Society. Bill was an avid bowler, golfer and gardener.
Bill is survived by his three daughters Beth Miller of Merrill, MI; Sue (Jerry) Zechmeister of Midland, MI; and Amy (Troy) Bohlmann of Reedsburg, WI. Four grandchildren Jeremiah (Kim) Zechmeister, Amber (Ben) Schloneger, Andrew and Justine Wenzel, one great-grandson Anthony Zechmeister, along with several nieces and nephews, and his special friend Helen and partner in crime Harold (Rose) Headley.
He was preceded in death by his sister Patricia McDonald and son-in-law Floyd Miller.
Per Bill's wishes he has been taken from the Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home for cremation. Family and friends will gather for a Memorial Service on Saturday, July 15, 2017, at 11 am at the Long Rapids First Congregational Church (5440 Church Road; off of Long Rapids road , east of M-65 intersection) with Rev. Arnie Kirschner officiating, with luncheon to follow.
Internment: Pilgrims Rest Cemetery, Maple Ridge Township
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Michigan.
