Betty Marie Bleau

Betty Marie Bleau, 92, of Alpena passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, October 16, 2023. She was a kind, loving, and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whom will be dearly missed by many. Betty was born on July 22, 1931 to the late Arthur and Nora (Moulds) Arlt in Alpena. On May 12, 1956 she married the love of her life Wilbur Bleau. They were married and raised a family together for 64 years until he preceded her in death in 2020. Betty worked as a custodian for Alpena Public Schools for over 20 years until she retired in 1991. 
There were many things that Betty enjoyed throughout her life such as cooking, playing cards, watching the horse races, and going to the casino. But what brought her the greatest joy was dancing. Not only did she love to dance herself, she also enjoyed teaching others to dance especially her grandchildren. Throughout her life, Betty developed a passion for baking. She loved to bake wedding cakes, birthday cakes, and pies and did so for many years. 
Betty is survived by seven children, Ruth Ann (Dan) Belanger, Carol Tessmer, Randy Frank, Jenny (Jerry) Tessmer, Judy (Dale) Putkamer, Wilbur Bleau Jr., and Ray (Tona) Bleau, sixteen grandchildren, Lori, Lisa, Karen, Tom, Brian, James, Pam, Steven, Betty Jo, Jeremy, Jenifer, Donna, Judy, Angela, Raymond, and Tiffany, thirty-seven great grandchildren, a brother, Jim (Cindy) Arlt, a sister-in-law, Dorothy Larson, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur, four grandchildren, Glen, Justice, Rob, and Kennedy, his siblings, Ezra (Marcelyn) Babcock, John (Doris) Babcock, Lloyd (Shirley) Arlt, Marvin Larson, and Eugene Ludwig.
Family will receive friends for visitation at Karpus Hunter & Ross Funeral Home on Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2023 from 12:00 P.M. until the time of funeral service at 3:00 P.M. with Rev.
