Bernadine B. Robinette

   Bernadine B. Robinette, age 89, of Alpena was welcomed Home by the Lord and her loving husband Lester on Saturday, January 16, 2021, at Medilodge of Alpena.

            On March 5, 1931, Bernadine was born to the late John and Anna (Donajkowski) Pokorski in Posen, Michigan. She married the love of her life Lester Robinette on September 9, 1950, at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Posen, Michigan with Fr. Szyer officiating; they were blessed with 69 years of marriage until Lester preceded her in death on April 29, 2020. Bernadine was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church of All Saints Parish, St. Anne's Sodality, and St. Mary's Rosary Society and the German American group in Belknap and Spruce. She was a devoted wife and mother. Bernadine helped Lester with his farming responsibilities and was an excellent cook, baker, and seamstress.

          She is survived by her 7 children: Rosalyn (Jere) Bey of Alpena, MI; David (Debra) Robinette of Manton, MI; Linda (Richard) Seguin, Ann (Mark) Boyk, and Cynthia (Thomas) Garber all of Alpena, MI; Amy (Patrick) Wingate of Canton, MI; and Pauline (Rodney) Stepanski of Alpena, MI; 19 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law: Doris (Chester) Donajkowski and Eleanore (Dan) Bouchard both of Alpena, MI; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

          Bernadine was preceded in death by four brothers: Edward (Delores), Theodore (Rose), David (Jeanette), and Paul Pokorski, eight sisters: Mary (Andrew) Kroll, Julia Currie, Cecelia (Chester) Smigelski, Katherine (Dominic) Lewandowski, Martha (Theodore) Robinette, Helen Pokorski, Theresa (Louis) Donajkowski, Margaret (Charles) Richardson and one brother-in-law Wilfred Robinette.

          Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home. A Memorial Service for Lester and Bernadine Robinette will be held at a later date and be announced by the Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home in a future edition of the news.

          Inurnment: Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Maple Ridge Township

          In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Alpena Community Mental Health or the University of Michigan Medical Center Department of Neurology Brain Bank Discovery Fund in memory of Bernadine.
